How sitting and standing can change lumbar lordosis
Research wanted to look into measuring the lumbar lordosis and pelvis in various positions
Lumbar lordosis is important as it serves as an important factor in shock absorption in the spine
When the lumbar lordosis is altered, it can result in pain, discomfort and decreased mobility
An increased pelvic tilt can occur when the muscles are weak in the hip flexors and tight muscles in the back extensors
The research found that SITTING decreased lumbar lordosis compared to standing
The lower lumbar L4-S1 significantly decreased in ALL Sitting positions, but a chair with lumbar support was the best position
