What is a herniated disc?
A herniated disc is a displacement of the disc material.
A more technical term is a displacement of the nucleus, cartilage, fragmented apophyseal bone, or fragmented annular tissue BEYOND the intervertebral disc space.
What are the different types of degeneration in the spine?
Type 1- fissuring of the endplates and infiltration of vascularised fibrous tissue. This is where inflammation occurs.
Type 2- Conversion of red marrow to fatty marrow
Type 3 – Subchondral sclerosis has occurred
How Can Chiropractic Help?
A 2016 study showed that Chiropractic patients had a high Neck Disability Index Score, which means they strongly felt better after treatment. The study showed the score improved up to 6 months.
The patients also reported NO WORSENING of the symptoms as well.
