What to Expect from an MRI and When You Might Need One

What to Expect from an MRI and When You Might Need One

Research has looked into the association between lumbar ( lower back) degenerative changes observed on MRI’s and present or future low back pain

Of the total participants (over 3000) over 75% had at least 1 finding and nearly 10% had 5 or more different MRI findings

MRI findings were SLIGHTLY more common in people with low back pain and pain severity was slightly higher in those MRI findings

With the cost of MRI's, its up to you whether you want one, as a rule of thumb i think they are great if you don't respond to the initial treatment plan of 8 visits in 4 weeks with no relief experienced

Do you need an MRI ? What will it show ?
