Research released in May 2023 looked into Computer vision syndrome in university students. With students now looking at books on their phones, tablets, and computer, a surge in muscle and ocular complaints have arrived.


The PREVALENCE of computer vision syndrome was 94% among participants

3 in 4 people have three or more symptoms of computer vision syndrome


The MOST COMMON symptoms of computer vision syndrome

- Neck Pain and Shoulder Pain (nearly 4 in 5 people

- Headaches (70% of people)

- The least common reported symptom was eye redness (1 in 3 people affected)


Most students use technology for at least 5 or more hours a day. Which is way more than the recommended 30 minutes a day


The most common POSTURE was when they were lying down


Most students did not keep a distance of 40 centimeters from the screen


Have you heard of the 20-20-20 rule

- Every 20 minutes look at an object 20 feet away for 20 seconds.


Sitting with a bent back was 4.6 times more likely to cause more than three symptoms when compared to sitting upright with a straight back
