Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Why Chiropractic Care Should Be Your First Line of Defense
What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
-Do you ever get pain, numbness, or tingling around the thumb or around 2-3 fingers only?
-Are your symptoms worse at night?
-Do you have problems gripping or feeling clumsy?
It could be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Having a history of repeated external pressure on the tunnel OR having prolonged wrist use in full extension or full flexion.
Other causes could be pregnancy, Diabetes, and Rheumatoid arthritis.
A blood test may be needed to also assess if you are vitamin B deficient.
How can Health Wise Chiropractic help?
- we will assess the muscles and joints around the wrist, elbow, and neck to assess nerve function. Most commonly we adjust the lunate carpal bone as that's the main problem.
The treatment cycle that is usually recommended and that research has shown to be the best is
- 3 times a week for 2 weeks, 2 times for 2 weeks, and then 1 treatment a week for 4 weeks. We use ultrasound therapy over the carpal tunnel combined with chiropractic adjustments and soft tissue therapy.
We have helped our community for over 10 years with spinal and muscle problems. Please call Health Wise Chiropractic at 03 9467 7889 or book online to see one of our Chiropractors in Sunbury or Melton/Strathtulloh can help you achieve the same results
